In Memory Tribute for Baltimore Ceasefire Tribute to Dante Barksdale
As an official Baltimore Ceasefire 365 school, Creative City makes it a daily practice to support the work of the Ceasefire Movement. Every Ceasefire weekend, we host unique events and activities that challenge the culture of violence and call our community to unite and promote peace. With the recent death of one of our city's most fervent agents for peace, Dante Barksdale, we'd like to dedicate our efforts this weekend to his memory.
We're creating a video montage that honors Dante's legacy. Please help us by uploading a video of yourself sharing your thoughts on how Dante's work to promote peace and positively shape our community has affected and inspired you. Share how you will follow his example to create peace, serve others and shape the community.
It will only take you a minute to film and submit your video. Don't forget to submit! Also feel free to post on social media using the hashtags below.

Creative City Public Charter School’s vision guides our program to support students who will one day shape the course of our community. Our school’s core values are embedded in our school pledge: We Care. We Question. We Collaborate. We Create! These foundational elements of our school philosophy align with and support the goals of Baltimore Ceasefire 365. For this reason, we intentionally build “Ceasefire culture” inside our school. in the surrounding Park Heights community, and across our city. This means that (1) we help one another get the resources we need, (2) we commit to seek peaceful resolution when confronted with conflict, and (3) we work with one another, our neighbors, and our community to be nonviolent in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We are especially diligent to do so during the four Ceasefire Weekends each year. By doing this, we contribute to Baltimore Ceasefire 365’s efforts to Increase the Peace and eliminate murder in our city. To do this work faithfully:
We KNOW and BELIEVE that this kind of change in our city is possible.
We KNOW and BELIEVE that we are part of the solution.
We KNOW and BELIEVE that it starts where we stand.
