What are we doing?

Nightlife Needs a Lifeline is a new project and collaboration between Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Aid, Restaurant Opportunities Center, and the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Independent Venue Association. Together, we are building a Hospitality and Nightlife Worker Fund that will distribute modest cash grants to people in our industries whose incomes and ability to work have been affected by COVID-19. We see how intimately tied our restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and live performance venues are, and how workers in the food and beverage and live entertainment industry have been similarly impacted by this crisis. As part of our fundraising efforts, we will be producing a number of live streamed events that will both bring awareness to our campaign, highlight our amazing creative communities, and provide paid gigs for performers and venue staff in a time where work is hard to come by.
