There are two ways a video gets into a Tribute: someone records or uploads one from their invitation, or the creator adds files directly.
If you were invited to submit
- Open your invitation email and click through to the Tribute page.
- Click Record Video.
- On a phone, choose Record or Upload Video — your phone offers you the camera or your camera roll. On a computer, record straight in the browser or pick a file.
- Watch it back. Click Retake if you want another go.
- Add your name and email, then click Submit.
You'll see Video Upload Complete! when it's through. You can come back and send another one any time — see Can My Tribute Participants Submit More Than One Video?
If you're the creator
On your Tribute page, click Add Media above the media grid, then Add Video, and choose files from your device.
You can also do it inside the editor: Edit Media in the right-hand panel, then Add Media → Add Video.
What we accept
- Formats — .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .avi, .mkv, .webm, .flv, .mpeg, .3gp and .ogg
- Size — up to 4 GB per file
- Length — longer than two seconds
- Dimensions — more than 180 pixels wide and tall
- Sound — the file must contain an audio track
Tip. Keep the window open and your screen awake until the upload finishes. Closing the tab stops it.
