Your Tribute has one password, and it covers the whole page — the collection page while you gather videos, and the finished video after you deliver it.
Turn the password on
- Open your Tribute page.
- Click Settings in the panel on the right. On a phone it's in the bar along the bottom.
- Scroll down to Privacy.
- Tick Password protect this Tribute.
- Type your password in the Password box that appears.
- Click Save Settings at the bottom of the panel.
Change or remove it
Go back to the same place. Type a new password to change it, or untick Password protect this Tribute to remove it. Click Save Settings.
Note. Changing the password signs everyone out. Anyone who unlocked the page with the old one has to enter the new one.
When can I set it?
Any time. Before you invite anyone, part-way through collecting videos, or after your Tribute has been delivered. The Privacy setting stays available on a finished Tribute, so you can lock the final video down later if you change your mind.
What your guests see
Someone who opens your link gets a short page that says This Tribute is Private, with a box to enter the password. See what that looks like.
Your invited guests do not need to type anything. The link in their invitation and reminder emails unlocks the page for them, and so does the link in the email we send when the finished Tribute is ready.
A link you copy and send yourself — by text, WhatsApp or anywhere else — does not carry the password. Send the password separately.
You never need it on your own Tribute. You're signed in as the creator, so you go straight through.
